Follow MAC Football Media Day on Thursday

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Mid-American Conference will host its 2016 Football Media Day on Thursday, July 28, from 11 to 3 p.m. at Ford Field in Detroit. MAC Football Media Day kicks off the season, which officially begins on Thursday, Sept. 1, and will conclude with the 2016 Marathon MAC Football Championship Game on Friday, Dec. 2.

Joining MAC Commissioner, Dr. Jon Steinbrecher, will be coaches from all 12 member institutions and two student-athletes from each university. Commissioner Steinbrecher will begin Football Media Day and address the media at 11 a.m. All head coaches and student-athletes will be available to the media throughout the morning.

Attending from Eastern Michigan will be Head Coach Chris Creighton, redshirt senior defensive lineman Pat O'Connor (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Rita) and redshirt senior offensive lineman Cole Gardner (Batavia, Ill.-Batavia).

EMUEagles.com will also have full coverage of the event with interviews and releases to be posted throughout the day. ESPN3 will also broadcast live from the event beginning at noon.

Not only will MAC Football fans around the country be able to watch the live show previewing the upcoming 2016 season, but they will also have the opportunity to interact with the head coaches, student-athletes and league office regarding media day. Both EMU and the MAC will post updates throughout the day using its Twitter and Facebook feeds. The official twitter hashtag for the 2016 MAC Football Media Day coverage is MACtion and EMUFB. Official tweets will include this hashtag and all media and fans are also asked to use it in their tweets related to the event and when sending questions to their favorite coaches and student-athletes.
