Trio of Athletes Post Top-5 Finishes at GVSU Tune-Up

ALLENDALE, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team wrapped up their regular indoor season at the GVSU Tune-Up today, Feb. 19. The team had a trio of atheltes head to Allendale to gain some experience before the Mid-American Conference Championships next weekend, Feb. 26-27, in Akron, Ohio.

In the 400m dash, sophomore Mark Cooke (Edison, N.J. - John P. Stevens) turned in a third-place performance, clocking in at 49.24, just .12 off of second-place. Freshman Cameron Hart (Columbus, Ohio - Bishop Hartley) narrowly missed his personal-best in the long jump. The Columbus, Ohio native notched a mark of 6.81 meters/ 22 feet 4.25-inches to take fifth-place. Finally, newcomer Jordan Fowler managed to snag the bronze in the triple jump, finishing with a career-best jump of 13.44 meters/ 44 feet 1.25-inches.

The Green and White will next head to Akron, Ohio for the MAC Indoor Championships next weekend, Feb. 26-27. Action from Akron is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
