Roback Named MAC West Offensive Player of the Week

The redshirt junior quarterback earned the award for the third time this season

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University redshirt junior quarterback Brogan Roback (Maumee, Ohio-Toledo St. John's Jesuit) was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week for the period ending Nov. 28.  It is his third weekly award of the season, and the eighth league accolade by an Eagle this season.
    
Roback threw for 355 yards and a pair of touchdowns, one of them coming in the final 30 seconds of the game, in a 26-21 win over Central Michigan last Tuesday, Nov. 22. It marked the fourth time in his career that Roback had directed a game-winning drive in the fourth quarter. 

The Toledo native accounted for 403 total yards, as he ran 11 times for 48 yards while completing 26-of-37 passes for 355 yards. Trailing 21-20, Roback connected with junior Sergio Bailey II (La Mesa, Calif.–Olympian (Grossmont College)) in the corner of the end zone for a touchdown with 19 seconds left in regulation.

On the season, Roback leads the team with 2,394 yards on 193 completions and 16 touchdowns. For his career, he has 5,463 yards and 36 passing touchdowns, which rank fourth and third all-time in program history, while his 474 completions rank fourth as well.

The Eagles will be making their first bowl appearance since 1987 after finishing the regular season 7-5. The bowl destination will be announced on Sunday, Dec. 4. Stay tuned to EMUEagles.com and EMUEagles.com/bowlbound for all of the latest information.
