Eagles Set for Lone Home Meet of the Season

The Green and White will host Central Michigan and Oakland for the EMU Triangular
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team returns to competition this weekend, hosting the EMU Triangular, Saturday, Jan. 23. In addition to the Eagles, Central Michigan and Oakland will also be in attendance.
Last weekend, junior Tyler Brown (Findlay, Ohio - Findlay) was the only Eagle in action, as he traveled to Allendale, Mich. for the Eubanks Open, Jan. 15. There, Brown took home gold in his single event on the day, finishing the 400m with a time of 46.76. The junior's time ranked as the top 400m time of the week, according to the Track & Field Results Reporting System. As of Jan. 19, Brown ranked third in the nation in the 400m.
In the preseason poll from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), the Green and White were the highest ranked of the trio competing at the meet this weekend, coming in at No. 48. Central earned the No. 130 spot, while Oakland was not ranked.
The meet is set to begin with field events starting at 10 a.m. Track events are slated to start at 1 p.m., with the meet coming to a close after the final event at 2:35 p.m. Generally, the men's events will take place first, followed by the women's.
