Seeking Volunteer Ushers For 2015 Season

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University Department of Athletics is currently recruiting volunteer football ushers and ticket takers for the 2015 football season. Volunteer ushers serve as ambassadors for the Department of Athletics and are critical to creating a safe and welcoming environment in The Factory at Rynearson Stadium on game days. All ushers should be reliable, dedicated, observant and possess strong communication skills.

Responsibilities include:
- Greeting guests and helping them find their seats
- Anticipating and responding to any issues and concerns that may arise
- Maintaining safe and clear aisles, stairways and portals
- Developing a strong working knowledge in order to accurately provide directions and answering policy, team, facility and event questions
- Executing emergency plans as needed
- Assisting in overall crowd and event management

All volunteer football ushers must be able to remain in a standing position for several hours at a time, communicate with diverse groups of people, and complete various training tasks at the instruction of a supervisor. Volunteer football ushers must be available to attend a training workshop, work all home football games and perform within EMU, Mid-American Conference and NCAA policies. All volunteer football ushers must be at least 18 years of age.
