YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) –
With practice underway and the first game of the 2015 season rapidly approaching, the Eastern Michigan University football team unveiled a trio of new adidas uniforms the Eagles will be donning this season. The collection, which was showcased during a team meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 12, features a tribute to the track & field program, a military appreciation uniform and a uniform custom designed by the team.

As part of the 'Tribute To a Legacy' celebration scheduled to take place when EMU hosts Old Dominion, Sept. 5, the Eagles will debut their first of three new uniform styles. Made to honor the legacy of Hall of Fame cross country and track and field coach Bob Parks, the EMU football squad will sport green and gold uniforms symbolizing the cross country and track & field programs at Eastern. A green jersey with yellow down the sides and white piping running from the shoulder to the neck is paired with gold pants. In addition to being displayed on the front and back of the jersey, the jersey number is also on either shoulder. Keeping with the tribute to the track team, the numbers are written in a stopwatch-style script. Eastern is written across the chest above the number on the front, while Michigan is written below the number. The yellow pants, made to resemble the shorts worn by track & field athletes, showcase the jersey number on the left thigh. Complementing the tributary jersey is a green helmet denoting the jersey number on the left side and block 'E' with wings on the right.

After opening the season at home, the Eagles make the trek west to take on Wyoming, Sept. 12, giving the team their first opportunity to wear their custom road jerseys. Designed by the EMU football seniors, the white pants showcase the classic green block 'E' on the left thigh while the jersey displays metallic green eagle wings on the shoulders. Staying consistent with coloring of the wings, Eastern Michigan is written across the chest in the green metallic and the player's number is outlined with the reflective coloring. Inside the metallic green outline, the number is filled with a diamond plate finish. The new white jersey can also be worn with a white helmet tagged with a metallic green block 'E.'

"It is a blessing and an honor to be able to help create your own jersey as a player," said senior defensive back Jalen Williams. "It is like creating your player on a game when you were younger."

The Green and White opening Mid-American Conference play against Ball State at The Factory at Rynearson Stadium in the "Band & Hall of Fame Game," on Sept. 19 their first of back-to-back home games.

In their second straight home game, the Eagles will suit up in red, white, and blue in honor of military appreciation. The gray top features the American flag with the stars sitting on the right shoulder and the stripes draped over the left. A block 'E' outlined in green and filled with white sits above the numbers on the front of the jersey. Paired with white pants and a gray matted helmet featuring an American flag block 'E,' the patriotic uniforms will be worn by the Eagles in the Washtenaw 100 Game. The hero style jerseys will be auctioned off following the game, with all proceeds benefiting Washtenaw 100, which is a 40-year old organization of area business and government leaders whose mission is to support the families of active police officers and fire fighters who serve within Washtenaw County..

Following a road game against LSU, the Green and White host Akron for Eastern Michigan's 95th Homecoming before traveling to Toledo, Oct. 17, and Northern Illinois, Oct.24.

The Eagles then return to "The Factory" on Oct. 29 when they host Western Michigan for the nationally televised Thursday Night Lights Game. The MAC contest will be the first nationally televised game in Ypsilanti since 2007.

The Green and White's final home game of the season takes place on the heels of a match up with Miami, Nov. 7, when the Eagles welcome Massachusetts to Rynearson Stadium, Nov. 14, for Senior & Fan Appreciation Day before closing out the regular season on the road against Central Michigan, Nov. 27.

Season tickets as well as single-game tickets are now on sale for the six-game home slate, which includes four contests against MAC foes.  Tickets can be purchased at EMUEagles.com/tickets or by calling 734.487.2282.
