DETROIT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – Members of the Eastern Michigan University football coaching staff took part in the Mid-American Conference Youth Football Clinic Tuesday evening, July 28, at Ford Field. Over 500 kids from around Detroit attended the event, running through drills led by coaches and student-athletes from all 13 MAC institutions.

Head Coach Chris Creighton, senior defensive lineman Pat O'Connor (Chicago, Ill.-Saint Rita) and redshirt sophomore quarterback Reginald Bell (Los Angeles, Calif.-Susan Miller Dorsey) along with assistant coaches represented EMU, conducting agility drills throughout the clinic.

The activities began as kids took a knee to listen to words of wisdom from MAC Commissioner Dr. Jon Steinbrecher and EMU Assistant Coach Jay Peterson. Following the speeches, the group was broken up into eight different sections working on a variety of football drills including agility, catching, tackling and throwing.

"Our annual Youth Football Clinic at Ford Field has become a staple within our schedule for our summer MAC Football Media Day Events here in Detroit," said Steinbrecher.  "This is an incredible event and we are proud to partner with Ford Field in hosting a free youth clinic to benefit players in Detroit in an effort to give back to the city that continues to support our Marathon MAC Football Championship Game."

The Eagles will remain in Detroit as the MAC will host its 2015 Football Media Day on Wednesday, July 29, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ford Field, officially kicking off the 2015 season.

EMUEagles.com will also have full coverage of the event with interviews and releases to be posted throughout the day. ESPN3 will also broadcast live from the event.

Not only will MAC Football fans around the country be able to watch the live show previewing the upcoming 2015 season, but they will also have the opportunity to interact with the head coaches, student-athletes and league office regarding media day. Both EMU and the MAC will post updates throughout the day using its Twitter and Facebook feeds. The official twitter hashtag for the 2015 MAC Football Media Day coverage is #MACMD15 and #EMUFB. Official tweets will include this hashtag and all media and fans are also asked to use it in their tweets related to the event and when sending questions to their favorite coaches and student-athletes.
