—Eastern Michigan University's swimming team completed its final meet leading up to its hosting of the 2015 Mid-American Conference Women's Swimming and Diving Championship with the OSU Winter Invitational, Feb. 15.  Continuing the trend from yesterday, the Eagles saw multiple career marks over the course of the six contested events.

The highest finish of the day came from Allison Murslack (Gibsonia, Pa.-Pine-Richland) in the 1650 free.  Murslack placed third in 17:77.66, shaving nearly three seconds off from her previous personal record.  She also competed in the 200 fly, taking seventh in 2:08.83 but notching her career-best performance in the prelims in 2:07.03.  The 200 fly was paced by Clarice Daniel (Belcamp, Md.-Homeschool) in 2:05.80 for fifth, but she had a similar case with her personal-best time coming in the prelims in 2:04.42.

Daniel went on to place fourth in the 200 IM in 2:09.72, but also recorded a faster mark in the afternoon session.  The junior touched in at 2:07.03 in the prelims, which goes down as the eighth-fastest mark in program history.  Daniel was joined in the finals by Betsy Trace (Upper Arlington, Ohio-Upper Arlington), placing seventh in 2:13.43.

The Eagles had two more fourth-place finishes to round out the individual events.  In the 200 free, Rosalie Yockey (DeWitt, Mich.-DeWitt) clocked a 1:54.17 to finish fourth, and Abby Saddler (Chanhassen, Minn.-Minnetonka) led the Green and White in the 50 free in 24.41 seconds while recording her personal best in the prelims with a mark of 24.29 seconds.

To close out the meet, Saddler, Murslack, Yockey, and Hannah Newell (Ames, Iowa-Ames) teamed up to finish second in the 400 free relay, touching in at 3:34.08.

The Eagles will be off for two weeks until the 2015 MAC Championships.  Eastern is fortunate to play host to the conference's championship Wednesday-Saturday, Feb. 25-28.  Action on Wednesday will kick off at 7 p.m., with the remaining three days beginning with a morning session at 11 a.m. and an evening session at 7 p.m.
