The duo dropped an 8-7 decision to the No. 44-ranked doubles team from Memphis
PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University's double squad of Andrea Martinovska and Klara Supejova completed its time at the 2015 Intercollegiate Tennis Association's (ITA) All-American Championships Wednesday, Oct. 7, by dropping an decision to a nationally ranked duo from the University of Memphis.
Eastern took an early lead, up to 7-4, but Memphis' No. 44-ranked Hanna Sohn and Anki Wind returned back to win four-straight games and knock off the Eagles, 8-7, ending the Green and White's run at the ITA All-American Championships.
"Heartbreaking loss today," stated Head Coach Ryan Ray. "We got an early break of serve, and we carried that lead through most of the match until 7-4. However, we couldnt finish Memphis, which is a credit to their fight."
The Eagles return to the court this weekend, Oct. 9-11, when they head to Moraga, Calif. to take part in the Saint Mary's Invitational.
