YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University baseball team has announced dates for its 2014 Fall Prospect Camps. The sessions, scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 20, and Sunday, Oct. 5, at Oestrike Stadium, is open to any and all participants ages 14-18.

Players will receive detailed instructions regarding all baseball fundamentals used by the Eastern Michigan coaches and players such as: proper throwing technique, fielding ground ball and fly ball techniques, along with the proper hitting technique. The morning session will take place from 9 a.m. until noon and will be structured like a pro-style workout, giving players the chance to showcase their skills in front of the EMU coaching staff and also other college coaches from Division II, Division III and NAIA institutions that will be in attendance. The afternoon session will follow and include skills instruction and two games until 4 p.m.

Cost of the prospect camp is $125. Click here to register online.

The camp will be conducted by recently hired EMU Head Baseball Coach Mark Van Ameyde, who makes his return to Ypsilanti after spending the past six seasons at Michigan State University. Van Ameyde was an assistant coach for the Eagles during the 2008 campaign under Jake Boss, when the Green and White won the Mid-American Conference Tournament to clinch a berth to the NCAA Regionals. While familiar to the EMU dugout, Van Ameyde will lead the team for the first time in 2015.
