The senior offensive lineman is up for an honor that goes to the nation's best down lineman

HOUSTON, Texas (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University senior offensive lineman Lincoln Hansen (Omaha, Neb.-Millard North) has been named to the 2014 Rotary Lombardi Award Watch List, an honor presented annually for the nation's best collegiate down lineman, the award's selection committee announced, July 14.

After being named All-Mid-American Conference Third Team following the 2013 campaign, Hansen was named to the Lombardi watch list for the first time in his career. On the list, he joins seven other lineman from MAC institutions.

Entering the 2014 campaign, the preseason recognition continue to build for the EMU senior as Hansen has been tabbed as a preseason All-MAC lineman by both Athlon Sports and Phil Steele.

Hansen served as the primary anchor to the EMU offensive line, starting all 12 games at right tackle and earning All-MAC Third Team honors during the 2013 season. He shined on the field and in the classroom by being named to the Academic All-MAC team as well as the team's Harold E. Sponberg Lineman Scholar-Athlete Award.

The Rotary Lombardi Award is a member of the National College Football Awards Association (NCFAA).
