Eagles Make Trip to Ohio State for Jesse Owens Classic

Victoria Voronko to compete in Mt. SAC Relays
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University's women's track and field team is set to compete against athletes from over 35 institutions at the Jesse Owens Track Classic, hosted by Ohio State University Friday-Saturday, April 18-19. One lone Eagle will travel westward to Walnut, Calif., as Victoria Voronko (Stavropol, Russia-School #42) is slated to run the 5000m Olympic Development race at the Mt. SAC Relays, hosted by Mt. San Antonio College, April 18.
Friday's schedule of events will begin in Columbus, Ohio, when the Jesse Owens Track Classic kicks off at 4 p.m. with the javelin throw, followed by the discus throw at 6:30 p.m. The running events will also begin on Friday, starting with the 5000m under the lights at 7:30 p.m. The Eagles will resume competition on Saturday, starting with the shot put at 10:30 a.m. Finish Timing will provide live results from Jesse Owens Memorial Track.
Voronko will compete in a late-night race on Friday, when the junior harrier will take part in the 5000m run at 7:44 p.m. PDT. Live results will be available through Flash Results West.
