EMU Announces 2014 Football Schedule

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University football team will have an eight-game Mid-American Conference schedule along with four non-conference games, including a pair with national powers Florida and Michigan State on its 2014 schedule announced Friday, Feb. 28.
The 2014 campaign will be the first for Head Football Coach Chris Creighton. Fans can still make their deposit now for football season tickets and reserve the opportunity to welcome Coach Creighton during EMU's Era of Excellence season ticket holder event. This event will be held Saturday, April 12, in conjunction with the spring football game. Individual and season ticket information will also be made available in the coming weeks along with an update on the changes in store for the game day experience at Rynearson Stadium.
Eastern Michigan opens the season at home against Morgan State University, Aug. 30. EMU travels to the University of Florida, Sept. 6, and Old Dominion University, Sept. 13. The Eagles close the non-conference portion of the schedule at Michigan State University, Sept. 20.
On the MAC front, the Eagles will host the University at Buffalo, Oct. 11, Northern Illinois University, Oct. 25, Central Michigan University, Nov. 1, and the University of Toledo, Nov. 28. League road games will see the Eagles travel to the University of Akron, Oct. 4, the University of Massachusetts, Oct. 18, Western Michigan University, Nov. 15, and Ball State University, Nov. 22.
EMU will have a pair of open dates Saturday, Sept. 27, and Saturday, Nov. 8.
The regular season will conclude with the 17th Marathon MAC Football Championship game on Friday, Dec. 5 at Ford Field in Detroit on ESPN2. This will mark the 11th Marathon MAC Football Championship game at Ford Field, home of the Detroit Lions, Super Bowl XL, and the 2009 NCAA Men's Final Four.
An updated schedule will be released later this spring with kick times and a full television schedule.
