Youth Football Teams Invited to Attend Nov. 28 Contest

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUGameDay.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University football team is offering local youth football players a full day of activities when the Eagles go up against the University of Toledo in the final home contest of the 2014 campaign Friday, Nov. 28. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m.

Youth football teams along with coaches and parents will be given free admission to the Eagles' home game against the Rockets when they wear their jerseys to the contest. Players wearing a jersey will also be given the chance to go on the field during pre-game, where they will form a fan tunnel to welcome the Eagles to the field. Following the game, the teams will be given a mini football and have the opportunity to play catch on the Gray FieldTurf at "The Factory."

In order to participate in the pre-game tunnel and receive the mini footballs, interested groups must pre-register their team by calling EMU Athletics Marketing at 734.487.2696 or by completing this form.

Teams are also invited to join in on the fun at the Turn It Up Turn It Green Pep Rally inside the Convocation Center beginning two and a half hours prior to kickoff.

"We had a youth day for one of our practices during camp and it was a great time," said Head Football Coach Chris Creighton. "Our guys do such a great job with the kids, whether it's reading in the schools or doing our camps in the summer or the youth day clinic. I know most youth football is over, so what a great way for their team to get back together – to come to the game and see some Division I college football. We'd love to have them and I think for any college football player or coach, it makes you think back to when you started playing and sitting in the stands dreaming of what you want to do as a football player. So we get really excited when youth football players are around our program."

Prior to kickoff Eastern Michigan will honors members of its 2014 senior class.
