Getting to Know an Eagle: Paige Roback

Roback, one of two seniors, looks to lead the Eagles to the top of the MAC West
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University volleyball senior Paige Roback (Maumee, Ohio-Notre Dame Academy) is this week's guest on "Getting to Know an Eagle". Roback is the first volleyball student-athlete to join Eagle All-Access in a series of weekly videos to give fans a more personal look at their favorite student-athletes.
Roback is a four-year starter at EMU and has accumulated 860 kills in her career, while also posting 741 digs from the outside hitter position. She averages 2.29 kills per set and has a serve percentage of .969, including a career-best .989 in the 2012 season.
In 2011, she was named MAC Scholar Athlete of the Week for the period ending on Sept. 23. The Maumee, Ohio native was also named the Robert Morris Holiday Inn Volleyball Classic's Most Valuable Player, as well as earning All-Tournament honors at the IUPUI Hampton Inn Invitational.
The Eagles start their season this weekend, Aug. 30-31, when they travel to Buffalo, N.Y. for the Golden Griffin Invitational hosted by Canisius College. The Eagles will face off with Canisius, Hartford University and Cleveland State University throughout the tournament. EMU is set for a double dip Friday when they take on the host Golden Griffins at 1 p.m., before squaring off with Hartford at 7 p.m. The Green and White finish its time in Buffalo with a 2 p.m. matchup Saturday against the Vikings of Cleveland State.
