Women's Tennis Opens Mid-American Conference Play

Eagles to tangle with Western Michigan, March 22, and Bowling Green, March 23
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team opens the Mid-American Conference portion of the schedule this weekend with a pair of road matches. The Eagles travel to Western Michigan University Friday, March 22, and Bowling Green State University Saturday, March 23. First serve for both matches is set for 1p.m.
EMU enters its opening weekend of MAC play with a record of 5-9, finishing the non-conference slate with triumphs over Nebraska-Kearney, IPFW, Detroit, Dayton and Oakland. The Eagles are looking to break a three-match losing streak along with getting its first win in the month of March. Two of those three losses during the streak have come against ranked opponents Long Beach State and UC-Santa Barbara.
The Broncos are 7-9 on the season with victories over Dayton, Valparaiso, Butler, Green Bay, IUPUI, Bradley and Oakland. Meanwhile, the Falcons are 11-1 in duels with wins against Duquesne, Drake, Chicago State, Youngstown State, Evansville, Cleveland State, Cincinnati, IPFW, California (Pa.), Butler and Illinois-Chicago.
