Klara Supejova the lone Eagle to win a singles match
CHICAGO, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team stood toe-to-toe with the No. 71 Blue Demons of DePaul University, but was unable to score the upset, falling 6-1 on the road Sunday, Feb. 3, at Lakeshore Sport & Fitness.
It was the second home match of the year for the Blue Demons, as the team improved to 3-2 overall in dual match play. EMU fell to 3-5 with the loss.
"We are not playing our best tennis right now," said Head Coach Ryan Ray. "We ran into a solid DePaul team that outplayed us today. We definitely need to get to work to get better. We can learn from this match and get prepared for next weekend."
DePaul swept the doubles point, getting off to a 1-0 lead in the match. Klara Supejova the lone Eagle to win a singles match as the Blue Demons took five of the six matchups.
Eastern Michigan will take some time to regroup before returning to action Friday, Feb. 8, against the Cardinals of the University of Louisville at the Chippewa Club.
