Eagles earn program-best finish for the novice 8+ at the Head of the Hooch

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University rowing team finished its final regatta of the 2013 fall season with a program-best top-10 finish in the novice 8+, Sunday, Nov. 3.
 
Tijana Milovanovic (Novi Sad, Serbia-Gimnazija Jovanovic Zmaj) earned a 10th-place finish in the women's 1x lightweight race, crossing the line at 20:59.20. Freshmen Lillian Britain-Auseth (Seattle, Wash.-Bishop Blanchet) and Autumn Little (Taylor, Mich.-Riverview Community) had back-to-back finishes in their first career 1x championship, grabbing fourth and fifth-place honors, while the Ohio born duo of  Lyndsey Tollas (Hicksville, Ohio-Hicksville) and Lilah McAllister (Cincinnati, Ohio-Walnut Hills) crossed the line at 21:00.70 in the open two event.
 
The women's open eight A team nabbed a time of 17:03.10 finish, while the B team came in .37 behind the A team with a final time of 17:37.00. The Green and White closed out the Head of the Hooch with the women's open four team crossing the line at 18:05.40 in the final regatta of the fall season.
 
The Eagles captured their second medal ever at the Head of the Hooch, Saturday, Nov. 2 when the lightweight women's four team clinched a third-place finish and a bronze medal, crossing the line at 19:48.90.
 
Eastern Michigan will open up its spring season Saturday, Feb. 22 when it travels to Clemson, S.C. for the Clemson Scrimmage.
