Winter Prospect Camp
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University baseball team will host a pair camps at the EMU Multi-purpose Indoor Practice Facility in the final month of the 2013 calendar year. The Father-Son Camp will take place Dec. 27 while the Winter Prospect Camp is set for Dec. 28-29.
The Eagles and Head Coach Jay Alexander welcome fathers and sons to participate in this unique camp, Dec. 27, which focuses on proper techniques in all aspects of the game. Drill stations will concentrate on the fundamental skills of the game including: fielding, throwing, hitting, baserunning, bunting, catching, and pitching. This camp is also a great opportunity for youth coaches to learn the same drills the EMU baseball team uses.
In addition to instruction from the EMU baseball players and coaches, Detroit Tigers pitching coach Jeff Jones is expected to be on hand for a question and answer session. The cost of the camp, open to any kids ages 6-14, is $85 and includes a t-shirt as well as autograph opportunities. Those interested in attending the camp can click here to register.
The 2013 Winter Prospect Baseball Camp, open to any and all high school players graduating between 2014 and 2017, will take place inside the EMU Indoor Practice Facility, Dec. 28-29. Coach Alexander, along with assistant coaches Andrew Maki, Eric Peterson and Jerry Brown will conduct all instruction at the camp. The camp will begin with a pro-style workout for all campers involving fielding from various positions. In addition, each player will be scheduled to play in a live scrimmage with instruction from collegiate coaches.
Registration cost for the Winter Prospect Camp is $100. Interested participants can register online by clicking here.
For additional information on both camps, contact Coach Peterson via email at epeter13@emich.edu or via phone: 734.487.8660.
