Sophomore setter, Alyssa Davis, joins Eagle All-Access this week

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University volleyball sophomore Alyssa Davis (Kalamazoo, Mich.-Plainwell)  is this week's guest on "Getting to Know an Eagle." Alyssa joins "Getting to Know an Eagle" for the ninth installment of the volleyball edition on Eagle All-Access. "Getting to Know an Eagle" is a series of weekly videos to give fans a more personal look at their favorite student-athletes.

Davis is in her second season as a setter for EMU Volleyball Head Coach Kim Berrington. In her first two seasons, the Kalamazoo, Mich. native has accumulated 1,032 assists, which ranks as the 13th most in Eastern laurels. Davis has accomplished that feat after splitting time as the setter in both her freshman and sophomore seasons. This season, Davis is second on the team in assists with 375. Last year, the then-freshman totaled 657 through the 2012 campaign.

The Eagles hit the hardwood again Friday, Oct. 25, when they host the University of Akron. The Zips and EMU get underway at the Convocation Center at 7 p.m. Friday evening. The Green and White will then welcome the University at Buffalo into the Convo for another 7 p.m. matchup Saturday, Oct. 26. Saturday's contest will serve as Eastern's Dig Pink match, in which the Eagles will raise money for breast cancer research.
