YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Former Eastern Michigan University football teammates of Mike Price are attempting to raise $20,000 to have the EMU offensive line meeting room named in his honor.
Price, a long-time teacher and coach for Saline Area Schools, died in December 2011 at the age of 51.

A husband, a father, a teammate, a teacher…On December 16, 2011 we sadly lost a man who embodied all those roles and many more. Mike Price passed away unexpectedly, and this has left many of his former EMU teammates wanting to show their respect in a lasting and memorable way.
Mike was our inspirational leader during the 1978 - 1982 seasons. As a Huron, he played with pride and determination. After graduation, Mike taught for many years in the Saline school system where he continued to serve as an inspiration to a generation of young people.
It is our vision and goal to honor Mike and his many contributions to his community by naming the EMU Offensive Line Meeting Room in his honor. We are reaching out to former EMU teammates and friends in an effort to raise donations of $20,000 to make this honor possible. It is our hope that you will consider contributing to our efforts so that we may continue to celebrate the legacy of a teammate who has left us too early. We also aspire to remind his family, colleagues and friends how much he and his tireless efforts to positively affect the lives of others meant to us all.
