Eagles win one doubles match and one single battles

LOUISVILLE, Ky.  (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 dual-match to the University of Louisville here Sunday, March 25, at the University of Louisville Bass-Rudd Courts.

The EMU No. 1 doubles team of Miriam Westerink and Nino Mebuke managed an 8-4 win over the Louisville duo of Amelia Harris and Gebrielle Duncan, but the Eagles lost the final two doubles matches to lose the doubles point.

Louisville, now 8-7, then won five of the six singles matchups with the lone EMU point coming at No. 6 singles when Marcela Rivero prevailed, 2-6, 6-3, 11-9, in a tie-breaker over Sarah Miller.

Head Coach Ryan Ray's Eagles, now 5-11 on the year, will get a chance to play a home match when EMU hosts Ball State Friday, March 30, and Miami Saturday, March 31, at the Chippewa Racket Club in Ypsilanti.  Both MAC matches are scheduled for 1 p.m. starts.
