Eagles Ready for Trip to Cornell

Gymnastics to take on Rutgers, Temple and host Cornell

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com)-
The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team concludes its East Coast tour competing in the Cornell Quad, March 3. The Green and White will face Temple University, Rutgers University and host Cornell University. Competition begins at noon at Teagle Hall Gymnasium.

LAST TIME OUT: The Eagles were victorious, Feb. 29, dominating the Bears of Ursinus, 192.800-185.100. Freshman Anna Willette led the Eagles on the vault earning the top spot, posting a 9.775. Junior Kristina Kurkmilis and freshman Carrina Lo Bello took runner up accolades tallying 9.725. Senior Stacie Wood and sophomore Kaylee Meyers took first on the uneven parallel bars posting a 9.725. Willette captured another first place finish on the night for her performance on the balance beam recording a 9.650. Senior Kristen Yourick won top honors for her performance on the floor exercise recording a season-high 9.825.  Wood and junior Brittany Cassar tied for second place earning a 9.750. Willette was the only Eagle to compete all-around, placing first. She recorded a pair of first place finishes along with a third place victory on the bars and a 10th place finish on the floor exercise.

UP NEXT: The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team hosts the Huskies of Northern Illinois University, the Falcons of The Air Force Academy and the Owls of Temple University for the ninth annual Eagle Invitational, March 10. Competition is slated to begin at 7 p.m.
