YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Saturday's football game between Eastern Michigan University and Howard University has been postponed due to severe weather in the Ypsilanti area.
The game has been rescheduled for tomorrow, Sunday Sept. 4, 2011, at Rynearson Stadium, with a noon start time. Admission will be free.
It marks the first Eastern Michigan game to be postponed since 2001, when the 9/11 terrorist attacks caused a Sept. 15 game at Akron to be postponed. That game was made up as the last game of the season, on Nov. 24.
The last time EMU had a game canceled that was not made up was in 1916, when the season ended after four games due to a smallpox outbreak.
