Dan DeMaster Signs with Utah of the Arena Football League

Macomb, Mich. native to take his talents to the Blaze

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (EMUEagles.com) — Former Eastern Michigan University football player Dan DeMaster (Macomb, Mich.-L'Anse Cruse Central) has signed a contract to extend his playing days at the professional level. The Macomb, Mich. native inked with the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League.

"We are excited about signing Dan DeMaster to our roster. DeMaster is a versatile lineman and a very good athlete," said Blaze Head Coach Ron James. "He is certainly the type of football player we look for in our program and we are looking forward to seeing how he develops in the weeks to come."

DeMaster joins the Blaze after starting in 11 of 12 games as a senior. In 2009, he started at offensive left tackle in all 12 games. DeMaster played in six games at right guard, starting in three as a junior. As a redshirt sophomore, he played in 12 games and started in eight at right offensive tackle, earning a Championship Performance by the coaching staff for his performance against Central Michigan.

DeMaster graduated from L'Anse Creuse Central H.S. in Harrison Township, Mich. where he was a member of the Academic Honor Roll. As a senior, he was a team captain on the football, basketball and lacrosse teams. He was named the Lineman of the Year in football, the Most Improved and Defensive Player of the Year in basketball and was a second-team All-League defenseman in lacrosse.
