EMU to Host Marygrove College in Final Exhibition

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team will close out its two-game exhibition season with a Monday, Nov. 7, home game against Marygrove College at 7 p.m. EMU and Marygrove played in an exhibition game last season with Eastern recording a 100-56 victory, Nov. 6, 2010. Admission is free.
The Eagles opened their exhibition season with an 81-55 win over a visiting Earlham College team Sunday, Oct. 30. EMU had four players in double figures in that game with Antonio Green scoring 17, Austin Harper 15, and Matt Balkema and Derek Thompson scoring 13 each. Jamell Harris added nine points and eight rebounds for the Eagles.
Following the Green and White's final exhibition game, head coach Rob Murphy will prepare the 2011-12 Eagles for their first regular-season game Friday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m. against the University of Illinois-Chicago in the Convocation Center.
In addition, Murphy has announced that the EMU-Michigan State game set for Sunday, Nov. 27, will be televised live on ESPNU with a noon tip off. That game is part of the Spartan Invitational hosted by Auto-Owners Insurance.
EMU's other opponents in the Spartan invitational include a road game at Texas Southern, Nov. 15, a home contest against Arkansas-Little Rock, Nov. 18, and a road game at IUPUI, Nov. 20.
