Eagles Place Third at Bradley Classic

PEORIA, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's cross country team tallied 124 points at the Bradley Classic for a third place team finish today, Oct. 14.
Missouri won the event with 65 points, while Illinois State collaborated for a second place finish this evening with their own Krista DeCeault winning the race in 20:56.15.
The Eagles' third place finish put them near the forefront of a 21-team field with three EMU runners finishing in the top-30.
Victoria Voronko (Stavropol, Russia-School #42) has convincingly established herself as EMU's top runner this season after pacing the Green and White for four consecutive races. The freshman placed fourth out of 230 athletes in the Bradley Classic, completing the 6,000-meter race at the Newman Golf Course in 21:04.43 while maintaining a 5:40 pace throughout the event.
Courtney Calka (Livonia, Mich.-Stevenson) was the next EMU runner to cross the line at 22:10.37 for a 26th place finish, while Morgan Churchwell's (Ada, Mich.-Forest Hills Central) 5:58 pace helped her to a 22:13.40, 28th place finish.
Rachel Quaintance (Whitemore Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern) rounded out the scoring for the Green and White, placing 36th after putting together a 22:22.18 performance.
The Eagles will return to action on Oct. 21 for the annual EMU Classic in Dexter, Mich.
