Ashlee Abraham Again Named Track Athlete of the Week

Abraham wins award for second time this month
CLEVELAND, Ohio, (EMUEagles.com) -- For the second time in the past three weeks, Ashlee Abraham has won the Mid-American Conference's Track Athlete of the Week Award. Overall, it is the second athlete of the week award that Abraham has won.
The sophomore sprinter, who went into this weekend's Harvey-Simmons Invitational with the best 60-meter dash time in the Mid-American Conference, won the 60-meter dash and tied a Michigan Indoor Track Building record with a time of 7.41 seconds. The time tied a 2005 mark set by Jenna Harris of Ohio State. Abraham's record-tying performance was also good for the twelfth-best time in the country this year in the event. In addition to beating out other MAC runners, Abraham also raced against competitors from the University of Michigan, University of Detroit and Valparaiso, among other schools.
The Eastern Michigan women's track and field team will be back in action this weekend when the team hits the road to State College, Pa., for the Penn State National Invite, Jan. 28-29.
