Women's Track and Field Announces Captains

Jessica Novakowski, Lauren Quaintance, and Rosie White to be captains for 2010-11
YPSILANTI (EMUEagles.com) -- Seniors Jessica Novakowski and Lauren Quaintance, as well as junior Rosie White, have been named team captains for the 2010-11 season, Head Coach Sue Parks recently announced.
Novakowski is a fifth-year senior pole vaulter who finished third at the Mid-American Conference Chamionship during the indoor season. She is also a two-time regional qualifier outdoors in the pole vault.
Quantaince emerged as one of the Eagles top runners in 2010, taking first-place at five of the six meets in which she ran at the 800-meter distance, including an outdoor MAC Chamionship. In her MAC Championship victory, the senior runner posted a season-best time of 2:10.05.
White, in her first two seasons, has proven herself as a great sprinter and jumper. As a sophomore last season, she finished third in the long jump and sixth in the 200-meter dash at MAC indoors. She was also a member of the 400-meter relay team wihc won the MAC Title and qualified for the regional meet in 2010.
"These athletes are great choices to lead the 2011 squad," Parks said. " I am confident that all three will provide great leadership and guidance as the team continues to move up the MAC standings."
