EMU's Aaron Sulzer Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

Sophomore 157-pounder Aaron Sulzer was named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week, Wed., Jan. 19
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University sophomore 157-pounder Aaron Sulzer (Cleveland, Ohio-Holy Name) was named Mid-American Conference Wrestler of the Week, announced by the conference office today, January 19.
Sulzer took home two wins at the 22nd Annual Wendy's Duals hosted by Ashland University in Ashland, Ohio last Saturday, Jan. 15. It was somewhat of a homecoming for the Cleveland native who continues to shine for Eastern Michigan during the 2010-11 season.
His two victories were each by virtue of pins and totaled just 2:07 combined. His first pin over Campbell University was in 1:24 while his second pin saw him barely break a sweat, finishing off his Gardner-Webb counterpart in just 43 seconds.
As a team, the Eagles saw 14 bonus-point victories en route to three dual meet wins on the day by a combined score of 125-9. EMU defeated Olivet by a score of 29-6 before dominating Campbell, 53-0, and stifling Gardner-Webb, 43-3.
Sulzer has won four consecutive bouts including eight of his last 10 matches overall and is tied with the team lead with 13 wins.
EMU next travels to the great state of Pennsylvania for a pair of non-conference duals against Edinboro on Saturday, Jan. 22, and Clarion on Sunday, Jan. 23.
