Eagles gear up for second weekend of fall action
EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team will head to East Lansing, Mich., Friday-Sunday, Sept. 24-26, for its second weekend of fall competition. Head Women's Tennis Coach Ryan Ray and his squad will participate in the 21st annual Spartan Invitational
Pending weather, Friday's action will be held at both the MSU Outdoor Tennis Courts and the Fee Tennis Courts located on the east side of Michigan State's campus. Due to the MSU football game, Saturday's competition is slated to be played at the Fee Tennis Courts and at nearby Okemos High School. On Sunday, the invitational is set to return to the MSU Outdoor Tennis Courts as well as Fee Tennis Courts. Action is set to begin at 9 a.m. each day.
Aside from Eastern Michigan, the teams competing are fellow Mid-American Conference teams Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green and Toledo, as well as California University of Pennsylvania, Chicago State, Cleveland State, Detroit, IPFW, Louisville andMarquette. The invitational will be played in a compass draw, non-elimination format.
