Akron remains perfect, blank Eagles
AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – It was a rough outing for the Eagles of Eastern Michigan University as the women's tennis team lost, 7-0, to the undefeated No. 63 (No. 7 regionally) University of Akron in a Mid-American Conference showcase.
Eastern (6-10, 0-3 MAC) was only able to take one of the nine matches, Saturday, April 3, as Xu Chang and Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr beat Angelina Jogasuria and Anya Baronayte, 8-5, in doubles competition.
Miriam Westerink forced a third set with Akron's (14-0, 3-0 MAC) Angelina Jogasuria, but fell short, 10-6, in the decisive set.
The Eagles will head back to Ypsilanti to prepare for an April 9 match against the Western Michigan University Broncos. The match is slated for 1 p.m. at the Chippewa Racquet Club.
