STRONG START: EMU's 10-9 record this season is the best start since the 2002-03 squad went 10-9 in its first 19 games.

CHECKING THE SERIES WITH MIAMI: The Eagles and RedHawks will be meeting for the 63rd time with Miami holding a 44-19 advantage in the series that started in the 1974-75 season. Miami has also won the last 13 in a row, including a 66-51 win, Jan. 31, 2009, in Ypsilanti. The last EMU win was a 92-77 decision in the Mid-American Conference Tournament championship game, March 4, 1998. Head Coach Charles E. Ramsey's Eagles enter Saturday's game with a 10-9 overall record and a 2-4 MAC mark after dropping a 64-61 home decision to Bowling Green Wednesday, Jan. 27.
Head Coach Charlie Coles' Miami RedHawks are currently 7-13 overall and 4-3 in league play after turning in a 64-51 home-court win over Central Michigan University Thursday, Jan. 28.

EAGLES PLAY SECOND EAST DIVISION OPPONENT: After opening the Mid-American Conference season with five straight West Division opponents, the Eagles have now turned their attention to the East Division with a six-game slate against cross-divisional rivals. The Eagles began that venture into East action with a 64-61 loss to Bowling Green Wednesday, Jan. 27. Eastern will see its second East foe Saturday, Jan. 30, at Miami. EMU will stay in cross-divisional play Monday, Feb. 1, in a game at Akron.

TELEVISION TIME: The Eagles next two Mid-American Conference games will both be part of live television broadcasts. EMU's Saturday, Jan. 30, game at Miami will be shown nationally on ESPNU while Monday's, Feb. 1, contest at Akron will be televised on Fox Sports Detroit and Fox Sports Ohio. Jim Barbar will handle the play-by-play duties and Tim McCormick will be the analyst at Miami.

THE CENTURY MARK: EMU seniors Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville) has hit the century mark and senior guard Carlos Medlock (Detroit, Mich.-Murray Wright) is four away in career games played. Dobbins played in his 100th game, and had his 84th start, against Bowling Green, Jan. 27, while Medlock played in his 96th game and turned in his 95th start in that BG contest.

BACK-TO-BACK TELEVISION GAMES: The Eagles will have back-to-back television appearances in their next two games. Head Coach Charles Ramsey's Eagles will play in Oxford, Ohio Saturday, Jan. 30, against the Miami University RedHawks in a cross-divisional game. That contest is set for a noon tipoff and will be televised live on ESPNU with Jim Barbar serving as the play-by-play man with former University of Michigan star Tim McCormick handling the analyst duties.
From Miami, the Eagles will remain on the road for a Monday, Feb. 1, MAC cross-divisional game against the University of Akron Zips. Game time in Akron, Ohio is 7 p.m. and will be televised live on Fox Sports Detroit and Fox Sports Ohio with Michael Reghi handling the play-by-play and former University of Toledo star Steve Mix serving as the analyst.

MEDLOCK, DOBBINS, BOWDRY CLIMB EMU CAREER LADDERS: The EMU trio of Carlos Medlock (Detroit, Mich.-Murray Wright), Justin Dobbins (Cleveland, Ohio-Glenville), and Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) are all making major moves up the EMU career rankings in scoring, rebounding, three-point shooting, assists and free-throw shooting. Medlock is now 14th in career scoring with 1,319, just the 15th player in school history to reach 1,300 points. Bowdry is 23rd at 1,057 and Dobbins is 35th with 920. Bowdry has 594 career rebounds for 13th while Dobbins is 29th in rebounding with 450 and Medlock is 67th at 273. Medlock is fifth in three-point shooting with 178 career triples and is ninth in career assists at 345 and is eighth in free throws made with 375.
Medlock is the 12th EMU player to reach 300 career assists while Bowdry is the 22nd player to grab 500+ career rebounds.

17th DOUBLE-DOUBLE FOR BOWDRY: Brandon Bowdry (St. Louis, Mo.-Taylor (Mich.) Truman) turned in the 17th double-double of his career and the 10th this season with 13 points and 12 rebounds in a 77-59 loss at Northern Illinois Saturday, Jan. 16.
