Eagles Fly High at 'Mike Lints' Open

Nine first place finishes propels Eastern
ALLENDALE, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team displayed dominance in every facet of the sport as it dominated both track and field events at the 'Mike Lints' Open in Allendale, Mich., Jan. 15, 2010.
The Eagles won nine of the 16 events, and finished one and two in seven of those nine. The freshman phenom Ashlee Abraham (
Marigna and Abraham would also finish first and second in the 200-meter dash, this time with Marigna picking up the win and also becoming an NCAA Provisional qualifier with a mark of 24.81.

In the field, Novakowski earned a second place finish with her NCAA qualifying pole vault jump of 12-03.50. Also, sophomore thrower Angela Scarber (Waterford, Mich.-Kettering) picked up third and fifth placed finishes in the shot put and weight throw, respectively, while her shot put toss of 43-00.25 was a season best.
In addition to the victories in the 60, 200, 400, 600 and 800-meter runs, EMU also notched wins in the mile, 4X400 relay, long jump and triple jump.
