Volleyball Drops A Pair at Bulldog Invitational

STARKVILLE, Miss. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team closed out the 2009 Bulldog Invitational Saturday, Sept. 12, with a pair of setbacks at the Newell-Grissom Building. The Eagles dropped a 3-1 (19-25, 25-23, 24-26, 22-19) to Arkansas State University before falling to host Mississippi State University, 3-2 (29-27, 25-20, 24-26, 17-25, 16-18), in the nightcap.
With the two setbacks the Eagles' record falls to 1-10 on the season. On the opposite side of the court, the Red Wolves of ASU improve to 8-1 while the MSU Bulldogs are now 4-7 on the year.
The Eagles return to action Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18-19, when they travel to the DePaul Tournament in Chicago, Ill. EMU will square off with the host Blue Demons at 7:30 p.m. Friday before facing Sacramento State and Western Kentucky Saturday at 10 a.m. and 5p.m., respectively.
