Marshall Named Prospect League All-Star

Andrew Marshall was named a Prospect League All-Star.

CHILLICOTHE, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University catcher and senior to be Andrew Marshall (Mason, Mich.-Mason) was named a 2009 Prospect League All-Star for its first ever All-Star Game, the league office announced Wednesday, July 15.

In 32 games this summer with the Chillicothe Paints, Marshall is batting .278 with eight doubles, two home runs and 18 RBI, good for sixth in the Prospect League. Marshall is also tied for second in the league with 19 walks this summer. The senior to be has led the Paints to a 20-17 record, good for first in the East Division.

The game was hosted by the Springfield Sliders Wednesday, July 15, 2009 at Robin Roberts Stadium in Springfield, Ill.. Teams were divided into squads representing the East Division and West Division.

Marshall and the Paints begin a three-game road swing tonight in Butler, Pa. to take on the Butler Blue Sox at 6:35 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, the Paints head to Slippery Rock, Pa. to take on the Slippery Rock Sliders at 7:05 p.m. and 2:05 p.m., respectively.
