CLEVELAND -- The Mid-American Conference, JumpTV Sports and the Chillicothe Paints have announced that every game of the 2009 MAC Baseball Tournament will be streamed live. Fans can buy a complete tournament package that will get them every game of the tournament for $14.95 or purchase a single game for $4.95. The tournament will take place May 20-23 and will be staged at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio.
In 2008, for the first time since 1982, and for only the second time in league history, the MAC Tournament was held at a neutral site at VA Memorial Stadium in Chillicothe, Ohio. Eastern Michigan won the 2008 MAC Baseball Tournament, defeating Kent State in the championship game.
The tournament field was expanded to eight teams for the first time ever in 2008. The prior tournament field consisted of six teams in a double-elimination tournament. The 8-team format will feature a bracket of two pools, with the winner of each double-elimination pool meeting in a one-game, winner take all championship game. The bracketing reflects the College World Series format as played in Omaha.
