» 2009 SEASON: The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team is in its 32nd season. The first season of women's varsity intercollegiate tennis at EMU was 1976-77 under the direction of Lucy Parker. The Eagles went 8-7 that season and finished fifth at the Michigan AIAW Championship.

» WHAT'S ON TAP: The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team returns home to the friendly confines of the Chippewa Racquet Club looking to pick up another win, hosting Northern Illinois University in its Mid-American Conference and regular- season finale. This will be the final home match of senior Joanna Woo's career at Eastern Michigan, and she will be honored prior to the match Saturday. The match will be pivotal as the Eagles head into the MAC tournament next week, April 23-25.

» SCOUTING THE HUSKIES: The Huskies have dropped five consecutive MAC matches after edging Ball State, 4-3, for their lone league win on March 20. NIU, which has eclipsed its entire win total from the 2008 season, will be looking to move out of the 8 vs. 9 match-up in the first-round of the MAC Tournament.

» THE SERIES: The Eagles and Huskies have met 30 times over the last few decades, and EMU leads the series, 25-5. The two teams met last during the 2007-08 season on April 11, when the Eagles blanked NIU, 7-0. The Eagles have won the last 10 meetings between the two schools, with Northern Illinois' last win coming during the 1999-2000 season.

» STRONG FINISH: The Eagles are looking to continue their success from last weekend and finish the season on a two-match win streak. The Eagles edged out Ball State, 4-3, April 11.
