EMU honored senior class before the meet

YPSILANTI, Mich.- The Eastern Michigan University women's swimming and diving team dropped a 175-119 decision to a visiting Ohio University team, Saturday, Feb. 7 at Jones Natatorium. The meet marked the final Mid-American Conference meet of the season.
 
The Bobcats won 10 of 16 events en route to snapping the Eagles' three-meet win streak. EMU finishes the regular season with a 7-4 (5-2 MAC) record.
 
Alissa Ricard (Tucson, Ariz.-Catalina Foothills) won both the 100 and 200 free on the afternoon. Ashley Durand (Lincoln, Neb.-Southeast) was also a double winner, taking home victories in the 100 and 200 breaststroke races. Sophomore diver Lesley Vizzuraga (Grand Rapids, Mich.-Forest Hills Central) was victorious in both the one and three-meter dives.
 
Prior to the meet, the Eagles honored their senior class as part of Senior Day at Jones Natatorium.
 
EMU is idle for the next few weeks before heading to Bowling Green, Ohio for the MAC Championship. BGSU is hosting the event, set for Feb. 25-28.
