Tennis Rounds Out 2009 Roster

Eagles sign three to complete 2009 Roster
YPSILANTI, Mich .— Eastern Michigan University women's tennis head coach Ryan Ray has announced the addition of three student-athletes to the 2009 roster. Xu Chang (Beijing, China-JiNan University), Georgia de'Lisle-Tarr (Adelaide, Australia) and Rumbidzai Muskwe (Harare, Zimbabwe) joined the squad this semester.
Chang, a transfer from JiNan University in China held a Women's Tennis Association world ranking of 1,083 and an International Tennis Federation world junior ranking of 592. de'Lisle-Tarr currently holds a top-eight South Australian ranking and was No. 102 in the Australian U-18 list. de'Lisle-Tarr will redshirt this season and be eligible to compete in January 2010. Muskwe held her best Zimbabwe national ranking of six before arriving at EMU.
“I 'm pleased with the commitment these ladies have made to Eastern Michigan University and to our tennis program,” said Ray. “I look forward to them helping us succeed this season and in the years to come.”
Chang, de'Lisle-Tarr and Muskwe join senior Joanna Woo (Winnipeg, Manitoba -Vincent Massey Collegiate) and freshmen Karina Ahuja (New Delhi, India-Modern School), Miriam Westerink (Rheden, The Netherlands-Thomas a Kempis) and Marcela Rivero (Santa Cruz, Bolivia-Saint George).
Tennis kicks of its official 2009 regular season Saturday, Jan. 23, traveling to East Lansing, Mich., to take on the Michigan State University Spartans.
