The Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team could not overcome a poor shooting night, dropping a 69-57 Mid-American Conference West Division game to the University of Toledo here Saturday (Jan. 17) night in Savage Arena.

The Eagles came up with a steady defensive effort, especially in the first half when they held Toledo to just 26 points, but Eastern made just 18-ofr-49 field-goal attempts (36.7 percent)which proved to be the difference in the game. Toledo, on the other hand, connected on 53.7 percent from the field (22-of-41).

The loss leaves EMU with a 3-14 overall record and a 1-2 MAC mark while Toledo improves to 3-14 and 1-2 in league play.
