YPSILANTI, Mich. - Eastern Michigan coach Jay Alexander, who's 36, never will forget a baseball practice when he was 6.

"My dad was a cop in Detroit and I'd say he was a pretty crazy dude. He got me into baseball because he was coaching in a local league," Alexander told Rivals.com. "His team had one black kid, a few white kids and mostly Hispanics. Even though I was 6 and they were 11 and 12, I still wanted to play baseball with them."
