Natalie Webb Finishes Second at George Dales Invitational

Eagles finish third
THREE RIVERS, Mich.- For the second straight race, two freshmen led the Eastern Michigan University women’s cross country team. Natalie Webb (Allen Park, Mich.-Woodhaven) finished second at the George Dales Invitational, Friday evening, Sept. 19, leading the Eagles to a third place team finish, accumulating 59 points. Central Michigan University won the meet, scoring 28 points, while Western Michigan University took second, totaling 44 points.
Webb’s second place time of 18:21.32 set a career-best for the newcomer. Fellow freshman Rachel Hollinger-Janzen (Goshen, Ind./Goshen) placed sixth in a time of 18:39.17. Sophomore Lauren Quaintance (White Lake, Mich.-Walled Lake Northern) was 16th, running the race with a time of 18:39.17. Senior Melissa Green (Brecksville, Ohio-Broadview Heights) ran 20:05.50, good for 24th. Rounding out the top-five scorers for the Eagles was Jacqueline Ellis, finishing 26th, running 20:21.13.
The Eagle harriers will return to action Saturday, Sept. 27, traveling to Chicago, Ill. for the Loyola Lakefront Invitational.
