Senior wins the award for the fourth time in his career

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Eastern Michigan University senior Graham Hill (Brights Grove, Ontario/Northern Collegiate (Indiana (Pa.)) was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for the period ending March 18. The award marks the first time this season and the fourth time in his career that he has claimed the weekly league accolade.

Hill keyed the Eagles attack, finishing tied for 19th with a three-day total of 220 (69-74-77) at the third annual Linger Longer Invitational completed Sunday afternoon, March 16. Hill’s 69 ties his lowest single-round score of the year, equaling his mark at the Jaguar Invitational, Sept. 17-18, 2007. Additionally, it was his sixth top 20 finish of the campaign.

Overall, the EMU men’s golf squad finished in tie for eighth place with Kennesaw State at Reynolds Landing. The Eagles (289-296-305=890) struggled on day three, but still did enough to finish ahead of Michigan, South Alabama, Mercer, No. 29 Mississippi State and Purdue in an extremely competitive 14-team field.

The Eagles continues their spring season at the Mobile Bay Invitational hosted the University of South Alabama, March 24-25. The Eagles and Jaguars will be joined by 10 other teams at the par 72, 6,900-yard Heron Lakes Country Club in Mobile, Ala. The field includes: Davidson, Mercer, Hartford, South Florida, Southern Mississippi, Mississippi State, Louisville, Memphis, UT-Chattanooga, Xavier, Eastern Michigan and South Alabama.
