Frankowski Named MAC Tennis Player of the Week

Senior was perfect against Michigan State
CLEVELAND, Ohio-- Senior Vanessa Frankowski (Stuttgart, Germany-Albertus Magus Gymnasium) has been named the Mid-American Conference Player of the Week, for the period ending March 18, the league office announced today. This is the second time this season and fourth time in her career she has been singled out by the MAC.
Frankowski was perfect a perfect 2-0 in singles and doubles play, March 12, against instate rival and Big 10 Conference foe Michigan State University. At the No. 1 singles spot, she defeated Christine Bader in two sets, 6-3, 6-4. At No. 1 doubles, she teamed up with Tina Bestehorn to defeat Bader and Whitney Wilson by a score of 8-7.
Frankowski and the Eagles will host two nationally ranked teams as they open up the MAC season Friday and Saturday, March 21-22. Eastern will play No. 56 Bowling Green State University Friday, March 21 at 1 p.m. and then No. 74 Western Michigan Saturday, March 22 at 1 p.m. Both matches will take place at the Chippewa Racquet Club in Ypsilanti.
