Eagles Fall to Spartans 5-2

Frankowski and Krishnan record singles victories
"We can now focus our attentions on the final six weeks and the MAC Conference schedule," said head coach Ryan Ray. "We can take some time to get healthy, and prepare for two of the better teams in the conference to come in next weekend in Bowling Green and Western Michigan."
The Eagles showed signs of improvement, as they won their first doubles match since Feb. 28. Leading the way at the No. 1 doubles spot were seniors Vanessa Frankowski and Tina Bestehorn. They teamed up to take down Christine Bader and Whitney Wilson in a thrilling match, winning on a tiebreaker, 8-7 (7-3).
In singles, it was once again Frankowski leading the way. At the No. 1 singles, she ended her three match losing skid and defeating Bader in two sets by a 6-3, 6-4 score. At the second set of singles, it was Aditi Krishnan picking up the second point for the Eagles. She defeated Manon in two sets, 6-4, 6-3.
The Eagles will rest for the next week and half before opening the Mid-American Conference season Friday March 21, hosting Bowling Green State University at the Chippewa Racquet Club. The will also host instate and MAC foe Western Michigan University Saturday March 22 at the Chippewa Club.
