Collected medalist honors on the vault and uneven bars

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Eastern Michigan University junior gymnast Duyen Zu Vuong (Ottawa, Ontario-DelaSalle) was selected as the Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week, announced the conference today, March 11. This marks the first time Vuong has won the award.

At the Eagle Invitational, Vuong set or tied her season-high mark in every event she competed in. She posted a 9.825 on the vault and a 9.700 on the bars en route to medalist honors in both events, helping the Eagles to their fifth straight win, improving their season record to 10-3, 4-1 MAC.

The Eagles will be in action again Friday, March 14, as they travel to Bowling Green, Ohio, for a dual meet with BGSU and Northern Illinois. Meet time is slated for a 7 p.m. start.
