Senior wins the award for the second time this season
CLEVELAND, Ohio — Senior swimmer Madeleine Pilchard was named Mid-American Conference swimmer of the week, the conference office announced today. This marks the second time this season and the fifth time in her career that she has won the weekly award. She also won the award for the period ending Jan. 22.
In weekend competition at Miami University Feb. 2, Pilchard helped the Eagles to a 159-141 victory over the RedHawks. The senior from Marietta, Ga. won three individual events, as well as a relay for EMU. After the Green and White dropped the first two events, Pilchard won the 200 freestyle in 1:51.19 to give EMU its first victory of the day.
Pilchard also went on to win the 50 freestyle (23.70) and the 500 freestyle (5:04.24). She was also part of the winning 800 freestyle relay (7:42.94) that ended the day with a victory for EMU.
The Eagles are off until the MAC Championships. The meet will take place Feb. 20-23 at Alumni Arena Natatorium on the campus of the University at Buffalo.
