Krishnan remains unbeaten on the season.

YPSILANTI, Mich. - The Eastern Michigan University women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 decision to the visiting Xavier University Musketeers Saturday afternoon at the Chippewa Club. The Eagles fall to 2-2 on the season while Xavier improves to 4-1.

"This loss really stings," said head coach Ryan Ray. "Xavier outplayed us by just enough, and maybe had a little more hunger to win than we did. Losing the doubles point put us in a hole again, but we weren't able to get out of it this time. I didn't think our doubles play was that bad, we just didn't execute to finish the points we had set up well. We'll need to get healthy, work harder, and get ready to take on a tough West Virginia team on Friday."

The Green and White struggled in doubles today, dropping all three matches by a score of 9-7, which put them behind 1-0 going into singles action.

Three Eagles were victorious in their individual singles matches. Vanessa Frankowski, at the No. 1 spot, defeated Xavier's Kara Courtney in two sets, 7-5, 6-1. At the No. 2 slot, Aditi Krishnan defeated Aylin Seyalioglu, 6-2, 6-3, to remain perfect on the season, with a 4-0 record in dual action. Eastern's final win came from Tina Bestehorn at the No. 4 singles spot, defeating Kaitlyn Zinn, 6-2, 6-1.

The Eagle travel to the West Virginia University Friday, Feb. 8, to take on the Mountaineers.
