YPSILANTI, Mich. — Behind a strong performance in the final rotation on floor exercise, the Eastern Michigan University women’s gymnastics team defeated instate rival Western Michigan University, 193.075-193.000, on Senior Day in Warner Gymnasium.The Eagles rallied from behind to win their second consecutive Mid-American Conference meet.

With the win, the Eagles move to 4-3 (2-1 MAC), while the Broncos fall to 2-8 (1-3 MAC).
           
Seniors Tawna Bennett (Jacksonville, Fla.-Edward White), Nicole Brostek (Sterling Heights, Mich.-Stevenson), Jennifer Charlebois (Oshawa, Ontario-Eastdale Collegiate), Nicole O’Hara (Florence, Ky.-Boone County), Sara Wilchowski (Northville, Mich.-Northville), and Jolene Worley (Orlando, Fla.-William R. Boone) were honored by their teammates and coaches following their come-from-behind win.  
 
Sophomore Erin Grigg (North Bay, Ontario-Widdifield) picked up third place honors on the vault for the Green and White with a 9.675. Worley and junior Stefanie James (West Windsor, N.J-WW- -P North) both carded a 9.650, tying for fourth place.
           
On the bars, Charlebois placed second with a 9.750. Also posting a top-five score was Grigg, tying for fourth with Courtney Lesson with a 9.650.
 
In the third rotation, the balance beam, Worley tied for medalist honors with Heather Carroll and Meghan Donovan, all posting a 9.750. The win was Worley’s second of the year in the event.
 
After three rotations, the Broncos held a one-tenth of a point advantage, 144.450-144.350. EMU, finishing on the floor, three of the top four scores, with sophomore Mickayla Balow (Blaine, Minn.-Spring Lake Park High) taking medalist honors with a 9.800, a personal and team season-high. Grigg and Worley tied for second, posting a 9.775, season-high scores for both.
 
Worley finished second in the all-around, posting a 38.775, finishing just .025 behind WMU’s Courtney Lesson. Grigg took third place, posting a season-high mark of 38.600.

The Eagles hit the road next weekend for a Saturday evening date with division-rival Ball State, Feb. 22, in Muncie, Ind. Meet time is slated to start at 6 p.m.
